  • How to collect hair and how much?
You can take them directly from your pet by gently stroking them, or collect them from a brush or in the vacuum cleaner. The amount needed for one piece of jewelry is approximately two good pinches in the palm of your hand, as shown in the photo below:
  • How to collect horsehair and how much?
It is important to take the hair directly from your horse's tail and not from the mane, because the hair from the mane is more fragile and brittle. If, unfortunately, you cannot take the hair from the tail, I can try to process the hair from the mane, but without guarantee of being able to create a braided piece of jewelry. To collect the hair, cut directly from the tail bone. Take the equivalent of the thickness of your thumb and as long as possible. Without hurting your horse, cut 1 cm from the end of the tail as in the video below:
  • Once the order is placed, how long do I have to wait to receive my jewelry?
A period of 10 working days will be necessary for the creation of your jewelry, from the moment the amount of your order is paid and the horsehair or hair is received at the workshop. Please also add the delivery days of your package, depending on the destination country and the shipping service chosen. You can contact me at any time to request the progress of your order by e-mail at the following address: sales@ecrin-sauvage.ch.
  • What are the noble metals and materials used?
Solid silver (925) 925 silver, also known as sterling silver, is an alloy composed of 92.5% pure silver and 7.5% other metals, usually copper. This combination improves the durability and strength of pure silver, which is too soft to use alone in making jewelry and other items. 925 silver is appreciated for its shine, quality and longevity. 5N rose gold plated on 925 silver 5N rose gold plated 5 microns over 925 silver is a material used in jewelry making that combines multiple elements to create durable and aesthetically pleasing pieces. 925 Silver (Sterling Silver) : The base of the jewelry is sterling silver, which is an alloy composed of 92.5% pure silver and 7.5% other metals, usually copper. This alloy is valued for its durability and ability to be worked into fine detail. 5N Rose Gold: 5N rose gold is a specific alloy of gold that typically contains 75% pure (18 karat) gold and a mixture of copper and sometimes silver to achieve its distinctive pinkish hue. The "5N" indicates a particular color of rose gold, characterized by a more reddish tint due to a greater proportion of copper. 5 Micron Plating: The plating process involves applying a thin layer of 5N rose gold to the surface of 925 silver. A thickness of 5 microns (5 millionths of a meter) is considered a substantial thickness for plating, providing good durability and wear resistance. This type of plating is often used to ensure that the jewelry retains its golden appearance for an extended period of time. In summary, 5N rose gold plated 5 microns over 925 silver combines the elegance and warmth of rose gold with the strength and value of sterling silver, creating jewelry that is both beautiful and durable . Gilded silver , also called vermeil, is a material used in jewelry and goldsmithing. Here are its main characteristics: Composition: Gold plated silver is primarily made of sterling silver (925 silver), which is an alloy composed of 92.5% pure silver and 7.5% other metals, usually copper. On this silver base, a thin layer of gold is deposited. Gilding Process : Gilding silver is done by electrolysis or immersion. In the case of vermeil, the thickness of the gold layer must be at least 2.5 microns. This ensures good wear resistance and durability of the plating. Appearance and Use: Gilded silver has the appearance of gold, with a warm, shiny hue. It is a popular alternative to solid gold jewelry, offering a similar aesthetic while being very durable over time. In summary, gilded silver (vermeil) is a material that combines the beauty of silver with the elegance of gold, making it an attractive choice for those looking for quality jewelry with a gold finish. Gold filled (gold/rose gold) is a material used primarily in the manufacture of jewelry and accessories, known for its durability and luxurious appearance. Here's what you need to know about it: Composition: Gold filled is a material composed of a thick layer of gold which is mechanically bonded to a metallic base, generally brass. Unlike plating, where gold is deposited onto the surface of the base metal by electrolysis or immersion, gold filled involves a stronger bond between the gold and the base metal. Gold Thickness: To be considered gold filled in the United States, the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) stipulates that the gold layer must represent at least 5% of the total weight of the product. This generally corresponds to a layer of gold of at least 1/20th of the total thickness of the material. Durability and Quality: Gold filled is renowned for its durability and resistance to wear, comparable to that of solid gold. It does not fade easily and can last a long time with proper care. It is a popular option for those seeking the beauty of gold without the high cost of solid gold. In summary, gold filled is an attractive material choice for jewelry because of its combination of elegance, durability and value. 750 yellow gold refers to a pure gold alloy that is widely used in jewelry making. Here's what that means: Composition: 750 yellow gold is composed of 75% pure gold, which is equivalent to 18 carats (carats = 24 units of pure gold). The remaining 25% is generally made up of other metals such as silver, copper, or zinc. These metals are added to strengthen the gold and improve its strength, because pure gold (24 karats) is too soft to use alone in jewelry making. Characteristics: 750 yellow gold has a rich, warm hue characteristic of gold, making it a popular choice for rings, necklaces, bracelets and other jewelry. Its 18-carat composition guarantees an optimal combination of durability and aesthetic value. In summary, 750 yellow gold is a quality choice for those looking for durable jewelry with a rich golden color, representing a good compromise between the purity of gold and the resistance necessary for everyday use. Surgical stainless steel is a material widely used in the medical field as well as in the manufacture of jewelry and accessories. Here are its main characteristics: Composition : Surgical stainless steel is a metal alloy mainly composed of iron, chromium, nickel and sometimes molybdenum. The proportion of these elements can vary, but typically it contains around 10-30% chromium and 8-14% nickel. Properties : Corrosion Resistance: Surgical stainless steel is resistant to corrosion and oxidation, making it suitable for prolonged use and frequent contact with water and humidity. Hypoallergenic: Although some people may be sensitive to nickel, surgical stainless steel is generally considered hypoallergenic because it releases very little nickel into the surrounding environment. Vitrified resin is a material used to create smooth, shiny, protective finishes on jewelry. Here are its main characteristics: Composition: Vitrified resin is generally an epoxy resin, which is a thermosetting polymer. It is mixed with a hardener to form a strong, durable substance when hardened. Properties : Gloss and Clarity: When applied and cured properly, vitrified resin creates a smooth, shiny, transparent surface. Resistance to Scratch and Wear: It provides protection against scratches, abrasion and damage. Waterproofing: Epoxy resin forms a waterproof barrier against moisture and liquids.

  • How can I make my precious jewel last over time?
Assuming you take care of your jewelry, it can last a lifetime. It is crucial to avoid getting it excessively wet or exposing it to high temperatures, because although the hair is robust once treated with our natural formula, it is not resistant to direct heat (fire). Regarding the findings in Stainless Steel, 925 silver and 5N Gold or rose Gold plated (in accordance with Swiss standards), they are designed to last a lifetime. Normal use: - Avoid any contact of the jewelry with perfumes - household or corrosive products. - Store your jewelry individually to avoid scratches, away from air and humidity. - Remove your jewelry to play sports, sleep, shower, in the pool or go to the beach.

Mit dir für immer.
